I've done some web development! It may come as a surprise to you, but the website you're currently witness to was made from scratch by me! I've put together a number of other sites as well.
My principle tools in website creation are Photoshop and Notepad. I design layouts in Photoshop, where I can easily edit frames and fonts - and code everything from scratch in HTML/CSS in Notepad. I have experience with HTML4, CSS, PHP, ASP, and SQL databases.
I do website freelancing, but I've somewhat tired of the Web Development scene. Until every browser out there is web standards complient (glaring at you IE...) - I don't plan to do too much more in this area. I've done many sites over the last few years, but unfortunately most have gone down. What remains is a collection of websites which are still active.
This website was done for a local limousine service in Cambridge, WI. The site is being maintained by another company - and has been for about three years. Much of the layout has been modified since I finished the design and submitted the site to the maintainer.
One of the longer domain names I've ever come across. I was approached by one of my mom's co-workers to do a site. I didn't have that much time, but I agreed to throw something temporary together. This simple CSS - mostly image free - design was completed in a weekend. It has rendering problems in IE, but it was supposed to be a temp site - nothing more. It turns out they liked the barebones feel of the temp site enough to keep it. I handed over the reigns to their maintainer who has done a good job maintaining the original look and feel of the site.
